:: My Fifteen Minutes? ::

Writing Your Dissertation in Fifteen Minutes A Day

This book seems awfully lame, but maybe it wouldn't hurt just to pick it up?

(And you thought you were getting skirt pictures today. Never trust me when I say "I'll put it up tomorrow" because if it were really that easy I would have just put it up "today." The truth is, the skirt's done but I didn't get around to taking pictures today because I spent every minute Evan was asleep also trying (unsuccessfully) to sleep and I keep forgetting to do it when he's awake.)

Tough choice, hon... read about writing a dissertation... or write a dissertation.... read about writing a dissertation... or write a dissertation... read bout writing a.... wait a minute... won't you still have to write the dissertation after you've read the whole book about writing the dissertation...?

Oh, my belly. Oh, god, I'm dying here, people. You're both so funny. Har de har.

See, folks? This is what I put up with in my life. Me, poor me, who is never ever sarcastic or a smart ass or anything. I swear.

She's right. She's never a smart-ass. Never. She's sweet-as-pie

You know, you could always write the dissertation first and then write a book called "How to Write a Dissertation in Two Semi-Procrastinated Days a Week!" Then you could be rich AND not have to go on the job market!!

Brian, I am very impressed....married only 3 years and you already know the right things to say!

However, I think the book should be titled "How to Write a Dissertation in Two Semi-Procrastinated Years!” :-)

I think you should totally buy it...so after your comment on my blog about the "stuck" theme and then my blog post which was actually a response to yours on your dissertation woes...I got a call from Chris in Rochester (he lived in the apartment behind mine). Anyway, he NEVER calls me so I was surprised and he said he read my blog and totally understood your woes. And mine, too. He suggested a book called The War of Writing, or something like that (I have it written down somehwere) because it talks about this "stuck" mode. Anyway, it was a blog-connected moment and I was excited about the cosmic force of it all and here you are suggesting reading the same type of book. He said the book her read really helped him. The author of the book also pretty much wrote that anyone reading this book is not doing what they should be doing, which is writing, and are merely using his book as a way to procrastinate their writing.

I thought that was funny.

I've already ordered it from borders.com.

Um, mom? I think two years would be pretty generous. I'd have to finish by September in order to hit THAT deadline. : )
