:: :: super cute seeking format :: ::

i'd say my biggest debate with most new designs i work on is whether they should be printable or printed items. sometimes the question is "how many times will someone want to print this?" and if the answer is very low, then it seems printed is the way to go. but sometimes i just can't decide.

what do you guys think about this one? it's an art print for framing. i've got a print of it up on our bedroom wall and i must say, it's pretty super-duper cute. i'm sort of thinking it should be printable but i just don't know.

please share your feedback. i'm eager to hear it.

THANKS!

I struggle with the same question! As you know, I've even opened 2 shops to offer both. For an art print, I would start with offering the printed version. That way you can control the end result.

Very pretty. I like it as a printable. People can print multiples and give them as gifts.

I think offering both is a great idea, to suit everyone's needs!

You could try offering it as a printable to see what kind of interest there is. Personally, I would only buy it already printed, since I don't have the paper or printer to do an art print justice. I wonder if that would be an issue for others as well.

is it too time consuming and difficult to offer both? i love that printable things are available- they tend to be not as expensive for people who have budgets. on the other hand, as an etsy buyer, i love buying already printed things. mostly because until recently i didn't own a color printer. even now that i do, sometimes when you print it at home it just doesnt turn out like it looks depending on printers and inks, etc. plus i dont always have the right kind of paper for it and then i'd have to run out and buy... you catch my drift. :)

btw... i love those umbrellas, for this seattlelite, that is definitely very appropriate!

Hey Julie!

I was wondering if you would like to participate in an inspired interview on my blog? I wanted to message you about it directly - but couldn't track down your contact information! If you're interested feel free to contact me and I'll happily tell you more about it! :-)

This design is so adorable! I would love it as an art print and would want to frame it as well. Speaking from far too much etsy buyer experience, I've never framed any printables. I tend to buy printables for more lists,calendars or fun little cards. It's a hard decision! I've never framed a printable b/c I haven't wanted to, but I would want to with this design -- especially since you mentioned it. So adding an image of it framed (in the item description area-- not sure what it is called) would be the key factor for me. So yup I've left you with no answer!! Sorry :(
